I'm Michael, founder of Yorkshire Vows.

My role isn't simply to conduct your ceremony. It's to understand who you are as a couple and create a celebration that feels authentic, relaxed and unmistakably yours.

More than forty years of creating unforgettable moments

For over four decades I've had the privilege of performing for audiences across Yorkshire and beyond.

Music has taught me something invaluable.

People rarely remember every word that was spoken.

They remember how they felt.

A smile. A shared glance. A story that made them laugh. A song that brought happy tears.

Those are the moments that stay with us forever, and they're the moments I strive to create in every ceremony.

Why I became a wedding celebrant

After years of performing at weddings, I realised something.

The ceremony is the reason everyone has gathered together, yet it's often over in the blink of an eye.

I wanted to help change that.

I wanted to create ceremonies that were every bit as memorable as the celebration that followed. Ceremonies where couples could laugh, cry, involve the people they love most and walk away knowing their story had been told in a way that felt completely personal.

That's why I created Yorkshire Vows.

As an independent wedding celebrant in Yorkshire, every ceremony I write is completely bespoke. There are no templates, no recycled scripts and no "one-size-fits-all" approach—just your story, told with warmth, care and authenticity.

One of the things that makes Yorkshire Vows a little different is that I can also provide live singing as part of your ceremony.

Music has always been at the heart of my life, and combining beautiful live vocals with a personalised ceremony creates an experience that's truly unforgettable.

There's something incredibly peaceful about wandering through the ancient ruins. Surrounded by centuries of history, it's a place that reminds me how every generation has its own stories of love, family and commitment. It's somewhere I go to slow down, reflect and appreciate the beauty and heritage of Yorkshire.

Amazed – Lonestar

This wasn't just our first dance—it was my wife Jeannette's and my first dance together as husband and wife.

Even now, whenever I hear it, I'm instantly transported back to our wedding day. The memories, the emotions and the happiness all come flooding back.

It's one of the reasons I believe music is so powerful. A single song can hold a lifetime of memories.

Some of the best conversations begin over a good cup of coffee, and I love sitting down with couples to hear how they met, what makes them laugh and what they dream their ceremony will be.

🎤 Something most people don't know...

Every year, Jeannette and I celebrate our wedding anniversary by escaping for a little break together.

And every single year, I have one mission.

Find a karaoke bar.

Without fail, I'll take to the microphone and sing Amazed by Lonestar—the very song we danced to on our wedding day.

It's become our own little anniversary tradition. A reminder that, no matter how many years pass, it's important to keep celebrating the moments that brought you together in the first place.
